Digital Retinal Imaging

Bourse Optical Boutique is pleased to announce we have incorporated a Digital Retinal Imaging Camera into our practice.

Retinal Imaging is recommended for “early detection” of diseases such as Glaucoma, Diabetes, Hypertension, Macular Degeneration, tumors and other retinal problems. Retinal Imaging is a simple procedure that captures an image of your retina (the back of your eye) for screening purposes today and for future reference.

Your first detailed Retinal Images enable us to establish a baseline photo of your retina. As a baseline, these photos are helpful in being able to compare and detect future changes in your retinal health.

We recommend that all of our patients, regardless of age, receive Digital Retinal Imaging. It is especially important for those patients who have a history of Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetes, high blood pressure, headaches, floaters, flashes of light or a strong eyeglass prescription. Digital Retinal Imaging is also recommended for patients who have immediate family members who suffer from Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetes, or high blood pressure.

Digital Retinal Image screening is not covered by insurances; the fee is only $25.00.

The digital camera snaps a high-resolution digital picture of your retina as seen in the images below.
